Cheltenham’s Public Hearts Defib Campaign increases defibrillator coverage tenfold in under 2 years
Cheltenham’s not for profit community defibrillator campaign, Public Hearts is celebrating both its 5th anniversary and defib installations totaling 71 defibrillators in the local community.
From a standing start of 0 as recently as four years ago, and only 7 this time 2 years ago, Public Hearts has really put Cheltenham on the map for public access defibrillators which are vital in the event of a cardiac arrest.
Run by Tidal Training Direct Ltd Director, Clare Seed, Key Partners including Spirax Sarco, Evans Jones, Tidal and Bob Holt OBE and the Defib Family, Public Hearts is an unique collaboration of community organisations, public and private sector businesses and charities, all of whom work together to give someone the best chance on their worst day through the provision of public access defibs.
Cheltenham’s defibrillator locations range from CCP (pictured), The Brewery Quarter to The Quadrangle in town centre and through the heart of so many high density, high residential areas in St Paul’s, St Mark’s, St Peters All Saints and Hester’s Way. And there’s a number in Gloucester, Matson and Brimscombe, too. Most recently, Public Hearts has completed a rollout of several defibs with the support of CIL neighbourhood Funding, collaborating with Cheltenham Borough Council, Cheltenham Borough Homes and community hubs.
Public Hearts is delighted to be able to facilitate so many of these life changing and life-saving devices that can be used for anybody by anybody in a medical emergency.
