Cardo Group Funds 2 Defibrillators for Public Hearts Defib Campaign
Public Hearts Defibrillator Campaign CIC has now installed Defib No 94 thanks to continued collaborations and connections of the business community. Public Hearts Key Partner and laeding philanthopist, Bob Holt OBE introduced us to Cardo Group, a leading provider of high-quality building maintenance and retrofit services for social housing and public sector buildings. Their CEO Liam Bevan generously offered to fund 2 lifesaving defibs:
The first was installed Public Hearts Defib No 91 The Gala Club Fairmile Gardens Longford Gloucester GL2 9EB in early Dec 2024 and the second was successfully installed marking Defib 94 at Cheltenham Borough Homes Durban House Princess Elizabeth Way Cheltenham GL51 7PG on 17 January 2025.
Public Hearts Founder, Clare Seed thanks CEO Liam Bevan and Sustainability and Training manager Scott Davis for their great support and Cardo Group’s generosity and foresight in bringing these lifesaving and lifesaving devices into the community.
These are high density residential areas and 80% of out of hospital cardiac arrest occur at home. Installing them here is vital, particularly as there was no immediate existing coverage within a 5 minute radius. Anyone can use a defib and anyone might need one, so let’s make them as available and accessible as possible.
Public Hearts has put Cheltenham on the map as the Defib Capital of the SouthWest according to the BBC and the Big 100th defib is imminent.
Public Hearts also holds funded cardiac screening days for young people 14-35 and the most recent one taking place on 28 January in St Paul’s, Cheltenham.
This is part of their wider mission to raise awareness, understanding and knowledge around cardiac conditions and to offer young people access to being heart screened.
