21 August 2023 – Public Hearts reaches The Big 60

Public hearts Defibrillator Campaign is delighted to announce the installation of its 60TH defibrillator.

The defibrillator and cabinet donated by Public Hearts key partners G4S and Spirax Sarco is installed at No.3 Restaurants at The Merryfellow, 2 School Rd Charlton Kings Cheltenham GL53 8AU
It is registered on The Circuit and is welcome addition to increase local public access defibrillator coverage. Jules Rains, Tom Phil and the No.3 Restaurants team at The Merryfellow Inn have been part of Public Hearts Defib Family for a long time and were a great support to us and Team Tidal during Covid. Chef Patron Tom Rains and Masterchef/ Rugby legend Philip Vickery MBE welcomed the new addition, a brand new ZOLL Medical Corporation AEDPLUS defibrillator.

These defibs are powered by The Duracell Company 123A’s available in so many high street stores for around £30 a pack of 10 – for inexpensive and accessible maintenance.

As are the pads with 4 year renewals

This is a landmark moment for our small, yet mighty not for profit community campaign. We set out to give Cheltenham, our Festival Town the appropriate defib coverage with no commercial incentive or barriers. Now we are the Defib Capital of the SouthWest.From the 6 defibs we facilitated pre Covid, to 35 last year and 19 so far this year, it can be done with the support, encouragement and kindness of others. Had a first aid at work training with Tidal and it was a great experience overall. The teacher was clear and very knowledgeable, the class went at a really good pace there was plenty of time to ask questions when needed yet the day went by very quickly!

A genuinely lovely company. Very concerned for their clients' happiness and satisfaction. Very professional and organised everything beautifully. The trainers were AMAZING. Really bright and knowledgeable, able to respond to questions, kind, funny, friendly and approachable. Training can sometimes feel only partially useful, but this all felt like things we needed and would use, presented thoughtfully and clearly by brilliant trainers. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tidal and will certainly use them again. Thank you!

After attending this first aid training I was impressed with the amount of information that was covered in the day as well as being taught in such an engaging manor so the information was retained well. I especially liked that the trainer for the course was an active Paramedic and was able to relate the first aid training to real life scenarios and experiences and share stories which kept the course interesting and gave character to the course. Overall an enjoyable training course which has left me feeling confident in providing many forms of first aid, highly recommended.

Brilliant course! Amazing to be able to practice CPR with a live link to assessment software. Now I know my skills are going to be effective if ever needed. Very reassuring to have my own CPR dummy for the duration of the course, and super confident of the safety protocols that Clare and the Tidal team have in place.
